Big Eye Catalufa (Pristigenys Serrula)
Big Eye Catalufa (Pristigenys Serrula)
The Big Eye Catalufa, also known as the Popeye Catalufa Soldierfish, is a rare and striking oddball marine fish characterized by its burnt orange to red coloration, distinctive white highlights, and dark-tipped fins. Featuring a feathery dorsal fin and prominent eyes, this unique species adds vibrant color and fascinating behavior to large saltwater aquariums.
While juveniles tend to be secretive during the day, adults become bolder and swim actively in open water. This peaceful oddball thrives in calm community settings alongside suitable tankmates, though it should be housed as the only Catalufa per aquarium and kept away from small ornamental invertebrates.
