Leopard Leaf Fish (Ctenopoma Acutirostre)
Leopard Leaf Fish (Ctenopoma Acutirostre)
The Leopard Leaf Fish, also known as the leopard ctenopoma or African leaf fish, features an intricate yellow body patterned with distinctive brown leopard spots. Masterfully evolved to disguise itself as a drifting leaf, this captivating predatory oddball ambushes prey with remarkable precision.
Native to West Africa, these unique fish thrive on a diverse diet of live blackworms and frozen treats, occasionally accepting flake food when young. As they mature up to 20.3 cm, they require suitable tank mates that cannot be easily swallowed.
