Blue Tang (Paracanthurus Hepatus)
Blue Tang (Paracanthurus Hepatus)
The Blue Tang (Paracanthurus hepatus), also known as the Blue Hippo Tang or Pacific Blue Tang, is an iconic and vibrant marine fish featuring a brilliant royal blue body, bold black palette markings, and a vivid yellow tail. As an active and graceful swimmer, it brings constant movement and distinctive character to large marine aquarium setups.
This species functions as a natural grazer, actively foraging on marine algae across live rock and aquarium surfaces to support tank maintenance. Due to its potential adult size and dynamic swimming behavior, it thrives best in well-established saltwater systems with a minimum capacity of 473 L and ample open swimming room.
